The North Alabama Homebuilding Academy (NAHA) is partnering with Girls Inc. of Huntsville for their 4th annual summer camp. Throughout the month of June, participants in Girls Inc.’s Eureka! Program will visit NAHA to learn about various career opportunities in the construction industry from local female industry leaders. Camp participants will also get hands-on experience learning real-world construction skills and techniques by building an indoor playhouse for Kids to Love.
"We are so excited that Girls Inc. and the North Alabama Homebuilding Academy chose Kids to Love as their playhouse project recipient! When our team of case managers and therapists welcome children and families into our space, we want them to feel safe and loved. But we also want kids to be kids. This new playhouse will be such a fun addition to our Kids to Love Campus,” says Kids to Love Founder/CEO Lee Marshall.
“We are proud to partner with Girls Inc. in providing this opportunity for young ladies in the Huntsville area,” adds Tommy Davis, Executive Director of NAHA. “This camp highlights the career opportunities that are available to them in the homebuilding industry. It has been very rewarding to hear participants say to us, ‘I could do this!’ when looking ahead to their future career goals.”
“Community partnerships are an integral component of the Girls Inc. Experience, and the exposure our girls receive through this collaboration with NAHA and Kids to Love is unmatched. 3 local nonprofits working together to empower strong, smart, and bold women of the future is what it’s all about.” said Girls Inc. of Huntsville Executive Director Stephanie Malone.
This year’s camp is made possible through generous donations and guest speakers from Lennar Homes, LeeHouse Homebuilding, Wilson Lumber, and the HMCBA Professional Women in Building Council.
